Prof. Dr. Peter Buxmann
The lecture series provides students with a wide range of learning content, covering both theoretical and practical aspects of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
The core topics include the fundamentals of GenAI, including its functionality and technological basis, as well as an overview of current application fields such as text, image, and speech generation. Students learn to recognize the opportunities and potential of the technology, for example, with regard to innovations, efficiency improvements, and creative problem-solving in various industries.
At the same time, the risks and challenges of GenAI are addressed, including technological limitations, ethical issues such as data protection, and societal impacts, for instance, on labor markets.
A particular focus is placed on practice-oriented insights through best-practice examples and the discussion of real-world use cases from companies and research.
The event aims to promote future-oriented skills that enable students to strategically integrate GenAI into their professional practice and adapt to technological change.
As part of the lecture series, experts from academia and practice are invited to provide insights into their research and/or field of work.
The lecture series can be taken as part of the Studium Generale by students of all degree programs as well as external guest listeners (please register in advance via email).
The lecture will be conducted in the German language.
The lecture takes place in room S103/221.
Thursdays, 3:20 PM – 5:00 PM
First lecture: 08.05.2025
