My name is Nihal Wahl. I studied Information Systems at Technische Universität Darmstadt, specializing in IT Security, Project Management, and Human Resource Management. After gaining several years of exciting practical experience in the private sector, I was drawn back to the university—this time as a research associate in our department.
Early on, I discovered my passion for the startup world—especially the intersection of entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology. From 2018 to 2024, I coordinated the StartUpSecure incubator at the National Research Center for Applied Cybersecurity ATHENE, where I supported numerous founding teams on their entrepreneurial journeys.
In my academic work, I focus primarily on digital transformation in corporate contexts and the development of digital innovations. I am also deeply interested in sustainable and future-oriented topics in the context of digitalization.
Alongside my research, my support for startups, and my active involvement in networking, I greatly enjoy supervising students in their thesis projects. It is my personal goal to work with students as equals and to prepare them as best as possible for their future careers.
