Detailed directions

Darmstadt is located in southwestern Germany, in the state of Hesse, and is part of the Rhine-Main metropolitan region. Frankfurt am Main is only 30 kilometers away and cities such as Mainz, Wiesbaden, Heidelberg and Mannheim are not far away. Due to its convenient location, Darmstadt and the TU Darmstadt are easy to reach by car, train or plane.

Take the A5 or the A67 to the Darmstadt-Mitte exit. From there, continue straight on in the direction of the city center. When entering the city center tunnel, first turn right, then left in the tunnel and follow the City-Ring. Turn left again at the next traffic light. Continue on the City-Ring, pass the Darmstadtium and turn left until you reach the entrance to the parking garage »Schlossgarage/Karolinenplatz«.

From Darmstadt main station you can take the bus lines F (Oberwaldhaus), H (Kranichstein Kesselhutweg) and K (Alfred-Messel-Weg) or the tramway 2 (TU Lichtwiese/Campus) and 3 (Lichtenbergschule). Get off at the »Schloss« stop. The TU entrance building karo 5 is only a few minutes walk away at Karolinenplatz.

Frankfurt Airport is 25 km away and can be reached in about 20 minutes by car via the A5. With the HEAG-Airliner you can get comfortably from the airport to the city center of Darmstadt (Luisenplatz) without a car. From Darmstadt main station take a bus or tramway in the direction of the city center and get off at the »Schloss« stop.

From the tram/bus stop or parking garage, walk across »Karolinenplatz«, past the Congress Hotel to the university. You will find us directly on the 2nd floor of building S1|02, room 241. On the map see a section of the downtown campus of the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Please note that from 18:00 only the main entrance in building S1|03, Hochschulstraße 1, is open.
