The Meta & AI Lab was founded in early 2023 in collaboration with the HIGHEST Innovation and Start-up Center.
Our aim is to provide students and stakeholders from business and politics with an inspiring space to discover, explore, and further develop the potential of virtual worlds.
Advanced technologies are driving the development of virtual worlds that merge physical and digital spaces, enabling new forms of social interaction – from playful experiences to professional applications.
At Meta & AI Lab, participants can experience a selection of cutting-edge technologies. The HTC Vive Pro 2 headset allows users to experience the immersive power of virtual reality at the highest level, thanks to laser-accurate, room-filling tracking and high-resolution graphics.
Furthermore, unlike pure VR or AR setups, Meta & AI Lab also offers mixed-reality headsets. The Meta Quest Pro enables both fully immersive VR experiences and the digital mapping of the real environment, which can be selectively enhanced with virtual elements (Augmented Reality).
For realistic movement in the virtual world, the KAT Walk Mini is available – an omnidirectional VR treadmill that allows walking, running, jumping, or bending in all directions while requiring minimal space.
The applications of Meta & AI Lab technologies range from virtual meetings and innovative marketing communication to medical scenarios, such as simulating doctor's visits. The Meta & AI Lab invites users not only to experience virtual worlds but also to actively participate in shaping and creating new ones.
