Welcome!

Since 2023, I have been a research associate in the Chair of Business Information Systems | Software & AI Business at Technical University of Darmstadt. Prior to that, I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering with a technical specialization in Mechanical Engineering at Technical University of Darmstadt. In addition, I gained practical experience in IT consulting.

In my research, I examine how emerging technologies—particularly artificial intelligence and the metaverse—are transforming organizations and work. One focus is the future of work and the question of how collaboration can be designed in digital and immersive work environments. I am interested both in the design and implementation of such technologies and in the conditions under which their use is successful—especially in high-risk environments where safety, reliability, and accountability are particularly important.

Methodologically, I primarily use Design Science Research to develop and systematically evaluate design approaches, artifacts, and design principles (e.g., concepts, prototypes, or guidelines). I also use qualitative interview studies to capture the perspectives and decision-making processes of relevant stakeholders and to identify success factors for implementation and use. As a next step, I aim to expand my research to include field studies and experimental designs in order to test design approaches in real organizational contexts and to investigate, in lab and online experiments, which mechanisms influence technology use and collaboration in AI and metaverse settings.

Since 03/2023 Doctoral candidate and research assistant at the Department of Business Information Systems | Software & AI Business at the Technical University of Darmstadt
Since 03/2023 Head of the Meta & AI Lab at Darmstadt Technical University
01/2025 – 04/2025 Research stay at the University of Cambridge, Cyber-Human Lab, Department of Engineering, Cambridge, England, United Kingdom (at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Thomas Bohné)
12/2022 – 02/2023 Research assistant in the Department of Business Information Systems | Software & AI Business at Darmstadt Technical University
04/2019 – 11/2022 Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering with a technical specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Darmstadt
09/2021 – 02/2022 Internship at Lufthansa Industry Solutions GmbH & Co. KG
10/2015 – 03/2019 Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering with a technical specialization in Mechanical Engineering, Technical University of Darmstadt
  • AI and metaverse: Design and deployment of AI and metaverse applications in organizational contexts
  • High-risk environments: Adoption, use, and governance of new technologies in safety-critical and/or regulated settings
  • Future of work & collaboration: Impact of AI-supported collaboration and immersive work environments on cooperation, coordination, and work practices

Methodological focus

My methodological focus is primarily on Design Science Research to develop and purposefully evaluate practice-relevant artifacts and design principles (e.g., concepts, prototypes, or guidelines) for the use of emerging technologies. In addition, I use qualitative interview studies to understand implementation, acceptance, and usage processes of AI and metaverse technologies in organizations. In doing so, I place particular emphasis on decision rationales, stakeholder perspectives, and implementation challenges—especially in high-risk environments and collaborative work settings. As a next step, I plan to expand my research to include field studies and experimental designs. This will allow me to test design approaches from my design science work in real organizational contexts and to systematically investigate, in lab and online experiments, which mechanisms influence technology use and collaboration in AI and metaverse settings.
