Enthusiasm and curiosity are the motivators of my doctorate at the Chair of Information Systems | Software & AI Business at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. I find the job of a research assistant exciting because, on the one hand, I can work on innovative and future-oriented topics together with students and, on the other hand, I am confronted with a variety of challenges from teaching, research and cooperation with practice partners. I find these activities particularly enriching, as they are characterized by the continuous examination of the current state of science and the development of new knowledge. Specifically, in my research I am concerned on the one hand with the introduction of new technologies in companies, and on the other hand with how Internet users make the decision to disclose personal information about themselves and others.
What inspires me about the discipline of Information Systems are the diverse methodological possibilities to answer research questions in the areas of (1) information privacy, (2) data-driven business models, and (3) machine learning. So far, I have had the privilege to work with quantitative methodologies (e.g., multigroup analysis, structural equation modeling) as well as design science methodology or digital trace analysis.
My university education at the Technical University of Darmstadt as well as my internships at Deutsche Bank AG and KPMG AG in Cyber Security Consulting have prepared me for my scientific career. I was particularly enriched by my stay abroad at Aalto University in Finland. I enjoyed my time in Finland so much that I can only recommend everyone to use the opportunity of a stay abroad to get to know new countries and cultures.
