Leaders today face complex situations that require not only decision-making, but also reflection, perspective-taking, and thoughtful preparation. Recent advances in generative AI open up the possibility of developing systems that support leaders as a structured sparring partner – for example in making sense of difficult situations, preparing sensitive conversations, or reflecting on possible courses of action.

The aim of this master’s thesis is to conceptualize, prototypically implement, and evaluate an AI Sparring Partner for leadership practice. The central question is how such a system should be designed in order to be perceived as useful, trustworthy, and meaningful in practice.

The future of work is expected to be heavily impacted by emerging technology, particularly in the areas of automation, artificial intelligence and Metaverse. This may lead to the elimination of certain job roles and the emergence of new ones.
It is important to consider the implications of these changes on various levels, such as the individual worker, the organization, and society as a whole, in order to prepare for and navigate the shifts in the future of work.

Our objective is to evaluate the impact of changes on organizations, groups, and individuals due to the advancement of emerging technologies and to determine how to effectively manage these changes to address the challenges and opportunities they present.

In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has beaten the world's best human Go player and managed to recognize objects better than the average human.
Due to its widely recognized transformative potential, organizations have already started to adopt AI in a wide variety of their business functions to increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
However, high uncertainty remains on how to manage this new technology in order to leverage its full potential and on potential consequences may emerge.

Our goal is to assess how we need to adapt and reinvent our knowledge of infromation system (IS) management to deal effectively with the challenges and opportunities of AI.
